JSIC sections and NAICS sectors follow similar economic logic: agriculture, mining, manufacturing, services. However, NAICS was built for the North American economy and includes categories not found in JSIC.

For international comparisons, use section-level mapping as a starting point. Industry-level mapping requires expert review of both classification manuals.
