A section-level orientation guide. JSIC and ISIC share high-level concepts but differ in granularity and scope.

This is not a 1:1 converter. Always verify against official classification documents.

Relationship

JSIC Rev. 14 sections A–T broadly map to ISIC Rev. 4 sections. Japan-specific categories (e.g. Division B — Fisheries) may not have direct ISIC equivalents at the same level of detail.

Key differences

  • JSIC includes Japan-specific activities not separately identified in ISIC
  • ISIC groups some activities at a higher level than JSIC
  • Official concordance tables are maintained by Soumu and e-Stat
